Last Hippie Standing – Goa Trance Documentary

Redefining social norms the early Hippies of the 60’s sowed the seed of Goa Trance Dance from which has mushroomed this amazing vibe of Oneness enveloping the entire planet now. ‘Last Hippy Standing’ is a beautiful documentary on the Goan Hippie Heaven Era and what has become of it today. With a strong campaign against the use of plant based psychedelics the Government keeps a majority of the population misinformed about plant based hallucinogens. The Shamanic use of psychedelics to attain altered states of consciousness is easily clouded behind the multi-billion charade called ‘The War On Drugs’. With the rave culture from the last half of the 20th century having evolved into a Spiritual Gathering of the Tribes, there is more meaning and impetus to the awakening of our collective consciousness through the psychedelic trance dance initiation. Goa Gil speaks about his spiritual initiation when he came to Goa in the 60’s. He traveled up north and practiced Yoga Sadhana for months, living with Himalayan Ascetics, Shiva Devotees (Shaivites) and other holy men who passed onto him teachings from the sacred Indian scriptures. Cleo Odzer, the author of the book, ‘Goa Freaks My Hippie Years In India speaks of her journey on a Bus from Greece all the way through Afghanistan, Pakistan to Goa, India. DJ Whosane, shares with us the essence of the Trance Dance Experience and how it all began with Shiva’s Dance. …Cape Town, South Africa. Having both lived near each other, and both experimenting with their own individual styles, the idea arose to try combine the raw combative fury of Hiyarant, along with the haunting psycho-delic melody of Frozen Ghost.

The result in one word was Power, and in early 2007 the name Dirty Motion was formed. Like throwing gasoline onto a fire, their aim was simply to push listeners to the limit with their explosive high-octane, high energy, high impact sound and showcase all the beauty that can be found in the chaos, exploring the perfect balance between the darkness and the light In early May 2007, the first single entitled ‘Lock Down’ was released on Noize Conspiracy Records, followed by a number of singles on Yabai Records.

Since then the name Dirty Motion has spread like an electrical surge across dancefloors worldwide, and the demented duo have both gone to release their individual solo projects (Frozens 2nd album ‘Edible Technique’ on Yabai Records; and Hiyarant his debut album ‘Collision’ on MMD Records), after which the decision was made to make Dirty Motion a full-time project.

S.U.N. Project is the most well known psy-trance-act from Germany. The 3 guys (Matthias/guitar, Marco/bass and McCOY/drums) were doing heavy/metal and rock-music, before they switched to trance in 1996. Because of their rock-influences they combine trance-beats with heavy-metal-guitars, which gives a very special flow to the music.

S.U.N. Project are the pioneers of the guitar-trance, even if other acts try to copy their Rock-live-show-concept.

Since 1997 they released 9 albums and traveled all around the world to play their music live!

Now their 10th (‘X’) and most powerful ‘Black Album’ is finished. The guys worked for about 3 years on this, because they wanted to create something very special to this anniversary.

The sound became stronger, sometimes faster. More crazy vocals than before were added to the music. It became the most kickin’ S.U.N. Project album ever.

The German-cult-singer Nina Hagen was invited to their studios in Hamburg, and she added her awesome-weird voice into the tracks ‘We’re In Space’, ‘Endless’ and ‘Dance Of The Witches’.

…years ago some of the worlds top scientists and psychologists tried to create the ultimate mind control device. The intended result was to be a powerful weaponized sound wave capable of incapacitating millions. According to recently de-classified documents, that experiment went terribly wrong. The test subjects were dancers at an open air festival in rural North Carolina. The results were unspeakable. Many of the dancers became so entranced they became zombies.

Neither alive nor dead, incapable of anything except movement to the sound, these undead trancers craved only the frequencies which created them. Even the scientists themselves were unable to resist the overwhelming sound waves. Almost all records and traces of this experiment were erased. The sounds were thought to be destroyed until several months ago outbreaks started occurring all over the world.

Apparently the wavelengths were uncovered and restored by an eccentric sound manipulator known as pantiestheclown with some help from friends across the world. These frequencies are very dangerous and should be handled with caution. There are no known survivors from exposure to this pandemic.
